The Maharashtra State Government launched the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana to make irrigation services more accessible to farmers. The state government has set a goal of erecting 1 lakh pumps in the next three years under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana. On 31 January 2019, the Maharashtra government released the first list of Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana beneficiaries, and the process of building solar pumps across the state began in the first week of February 2019.

We all know that many farmers in the country use diesel and electric pumps to water their farms. Farmers spend a lot of money on irrigation using diesel and electric pumps since diesel pumps are so expensive. The Maharashtra State Government has launched this scheme in response to this issue. Solar pumps will be distributed by the state government to Maharashtra farmers to water their crops under the Maharashtra Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Pump Scheme 2022.
Under the Krishi Solar Pump Scheme, 95% of the total cost of the solar pump will be provided by the state government. And the remaining 5% will be paid by the beneficiary farmers. The objective of this scheme is to increase the income of farmers by providing them solar pumps through Maharashtra Chief Minister Solar Pump Scheme 2022. Mahadiscom Solar Pump Yojana Key Features
Farmers in Maharashtra would be able to benefit from the Mahadiscom Solar Pump Yojana.
All farmers with fewer than 5 acres of land will receive 3 HP pumps, and large farms will receive 5 HP pumps under this scheme.
In the first part of the project, the state government will distribute 25,000 solar water pumps, and in the second phase, the state government will give 50,000 solar water pumps.
The state government will provide 25,000 solar pumps to farmers in the third phase.
The state government will distribute solar pumps to Maharashtra farmers to water their fields under the Mukhyamantri Solar Krishi Pump Yojana.
Farmers in Maharashtra who already have an electrical connection will not be eligible for the Mahadiscom Solar Pump Yojana’s solar-powered ag pump.

Only farmers who have a reliable source of water are eligible for the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana. Farmers with a traditional electricity connection, on the other hand, will not benefit from this program.

The Maharashtra State Electricity Regulatory Commission has notified the MERC (Net Metering for Roof-top Solar Photo Voltaic Systems) Regulations, 2015 on September 10, 2015 for the installation of solar PV systems on rooftops or any mounting structure by the existing or new consumers of MSEDCL in their premises for captive use. This includes consumer catering to a common load such as housing society. Such a solar generation system may be owned and operated by the consumer itself or by a third party leasing such a system to the consumer. A solar PV installation beyond 40% of the DTC rated capacity may be allowed upon consideration of a detailed load study on a particular DTC. The variation in the capacity of the solar PV system shall be allowed within a range of 5%.
